Dr Garde’s 10 Essentials for Optimal life
All you need to know to live with spectacular health.
I have attempted to get to the essence of what it is to be a healthy, vital human being functioning at optimum levels and what gives maximum support in that endeavor. I have over thirty-five years of study and practical application of helping people re-establish their health. I realize that there are numerous nutritional components that are helpful, beneficial and necessary. But the purpose is not to create a health encyclopedia just the most fundamentally important top ten things needed to be healthy. The funny thing is – if you follow the majority of these suggestions and not worry about all the details, you will have spectacular health.
There is a point of view that states that there are a great many things to do to keep or stay healthy and tons more things to do when health is lost and we are actively searching for a way back from pain and infirmity. This detail oriented POV tries to manage consciously an information set called “All Things Healthy”. For most of us – including me – it is a never ending set with information growing and changing daily – if not faster. Impossible to manage. It is no wonder that many people grow tired, frustrated and eventually ignore the constant barrage of information and settle for the set that’s named “Expediency - Whatever”.
But I’m a bottom line big picture guy. If we focus on the harmony of the body with the internal and external environments and live in that balance, all the little ‘what abouts’ tend to be less important and the body can do it’s job. After all, the power that made the body heals the body.
The other thing about lists and especially this list is that the items are listed separately in an artificail manner. In reality, they are not stand alone. They are interactive and synergistic. Each of them multiplies the effect of each other. Each one of these topics can take a book or several volumes to completely investigate its importance – I’m sure each of the topics is actually some person or persons life’s work. It has been difficult to keep the explanations to several paragraphs. It is also a difficult task because of the interrelatedness of the topics; they affect each other so this list itself can easily escalate into a book all by itself. I will put links to more information if the reader is more interested in the topic. But for now here is “The List”!

- Aronia = 8x’s more nutrient dense than açai
- Cacao = unalkalized chocolate – sugar & fillers
10 Omega-3 sources = fish (– mercury) & flax seed oil
